Oribel Cocoon Safety Announcement

Oribel Cocoon Safety Announcement

Being parents ourselves, we have been guided by a strong commitment to produce quality products since Oribel’s inception. Our products are rigorously tested to ensure that we provide our consumers with safe products that meet and exceed safety standards of all the countries we sell in.

We received a small number of complaints reporting cracks in the Cocoon legs. While the high chair meets and exceeds ASTM and EAN standards (as with all Oribel products), we examined these complaints and realised that it could be a concern if the high chair is rocked excessively. The legs of the Cocoon High Chair can develop cracks and break, posing a fall hazard to children. No injuries have been reported from any customer worldwide.

Q&A

Which models and products are affected by the recall?
All Cocoon High Chairs with silver and white legs manufactured before August 2018 may be affected by the recall. To check the manufacturing date of your high chair, please check the sticker on the back of its seat or under the tray.

Why is Oribel making this product safety announcement
Being parents ourselves, we have been guided by a strong commitment to produce quality products since Oribel's inception. Our products are rigorously tested to ensure we provide our consumers with safe products that meet and exceed safety standards of all the countries we sell in.

After receiving feedback from a small number of parents, we discovered that the Cocoon High Chair could potentially develop a crack, following excessive bouncing or rocking on the seat.

What is included in the repair kit?
The repair kit has 4 parts that you need to put together a pair of new legs for your Cocoon High Chair.

How do I assemble the new set of legs
Please watch the video below.

What do I do with the old Cocoon legs?
Please destroy and discard the legs so they cannot be used.

Can I continue to use my chair if I don't see any cracks in the legs?
If your high chair falls under the affected batch, it is advisable to request a new set of legs even if you don't see any cracks.

Am I still eligible for a replacement kit if I no longer have the receipt for the product?

Yes. All you need to do is send us a photo of the sticker with the manufacturing month.

Check for cracks in the highlighted areas

If your high chair has any visible cracks, please discontinue use until you receive your repair kit.

Check if your Cocoon is affected

You can check if your Cocoon could be affected from its manufacturing date and presence of an ‘R’ mark on the hinge hubs of the legs.

1. If your Cocoon was manufactured in Aug 2018 or later, it is not affected

2. If your Cocoon was manufactured in July 2018 or before, and has a ‘R’ mark on the hinge hub of its legs, it is not affected.

3. If your Cocoon was manufactured before in or before July 2018 and does NOT have a ‘R’ mark, it is affected

Identify the Manufacturing Month

Look at the Warning Sticker on the back of the Cocoon high chair or the Compliance Sticker under the tray for the manufacturing (MF) month in MM/YYYY format.

Or

Identify the R Mark

The R mark at the hinge hub means that your Cocoon highchair is NOT affected.
