Essential Items You'll Need for Phase 2

Posted on July 01 2020

When heading out with your family, here are some essentials to bring with you.

As we enter Phase 2, here are some essential items you’ll need when going out with your family.

Although it's finally safe to dine outside, go shopping and meet up with family and friends, do exercise caution and bring these essential items with you.

Pocket Sprays

Use this disinfectant pocket spray on common areas like toilet seats and door knobs.

First, pack the Biocair Disinfectant Anti-Bacterial Pocket Spray ($15.80), made with pure water and BC-65. Hence, this disinfectant contains no alcohol and is non-toxic and non-corrosive. In just 60 seconds of contact it eliminates 99.99 percent of bacteria and viruses. Use this on toilet seat covers, electronic devices, kitchen surfaces and door knobs.

When dining out with your family, use the Biocair Bioactive Anti-Bacterial Pocket Spray ($16.80) to sanitise common touch points. Of these, spray down play areas, potty seats, toilet surfaces, high chairs and strollers. Just spray and wait for 60 seconds.

Hand Sanitizers

Keep your hands clean with this Hand and Body Sanitiser, that also effectively repels insects while moisturising the skin.

Another vital item to bring along with you is hand sanitiser. One such hand sanitiser is the Cloversoft 99.99% Germs Bgone Hand Sanitiser ($2.95), containing 70% alcohol to effectively kill bacteria and germs. Additionally, it contains no sulphates, or phthalates, parabens or dyes. However, do be aware that it’s also highly flammable.

Alternatively, try the Pearlie White Hand Sanitiser ($2.60). This is made with 62% alcohol content, and the anti-bacterial gel is laboratory tested. In particular, the anti-bacterial gel is effective in eliminating 99.99% of common harmful germs and bacteria. Moreover, the non-sticky formula is enriched with moisturisers, leaving your hands smooth and clean. Likewise, this is also flammable, so make sure to keep it away from heat and flame.

Finally, try the Twinkle Baby Hand & Body Sanitiser ($19.90), which contains eight antibacterial, natural essential oils. These eliminate harmful germs and bacteria, while blocking damaging UV rays and air pollutants. Furthermore, this alcohol-free sanitiser contains a rich blend of natural and organic ingredients. Not only will this sanitiser keep the skin moisturised, it’s also an effective insect repellent. For extra protection, other items by Twinkle Baby, such as the body milk, body oil and room spray also work as insect repellents.

Face Masks for Kids

Get these comfortable, effective and breathable masks for your little ones.

Of course, one essential item is a face mask. For older children, try the Bzu Bzu Kids Surgical Mask ($3.50). Designed with three layers, the innermost one is comfortable and gentle on children’s skin. Next, the middle layer is melt-blown and non-woven, and it traps dust and micro particles. Lastly, the outermost layer protects against droplets and bacteria. Additionally, the masks also have a Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (B.F.E.) of more than 99%, and have been SGS-tested. Moreover, the masks are fibreglass-free, fluid and splash resistant. Most importantly, they are suitable for sensitive skin and are easy to breathe with.

Meanwhile, children two and three years old can try the Pigeon Disposable Facial Mask ($7.90) instead. Made in Japan, this three-dimensional domed mask makes it easy to breathe through the mask. Also, these masks are comfortable to wear as they're made from soft material.

Other Essential Items

Another essential item is a digital thermometer to check your children's temperatures. The Pigeon Digital Thermometer ($9.90) features a soft and flexible tip and a fever alarm when your baby’s temperature exceeds 37.8℃, as well as an auto-off feature. When taking your baby’s temperature under the arm, remove the thermometer five minutes after it beeps to get a more accurate reading.

For everyday use, the Pigeon Anti-Bacterial Wipes ($3.95) effectively kills 99.99% of bacteria, so you can use this on anything and everything your baby touches, especially when you’re out in public. These wipes can be used on hands, toys and pacifiers, and are made from 100% food grade ingredients.

Dengue Protection

Protect your little one from unwanted bites with the YOYO mosquito nets.

Aside from COVID-19, dengue cases are also increasing in Singapore, thus do take the proper precautions to shield your little ones from mosquito bites. One way is to cover your stroller with the YOYO or the Joolz Uni2 Mosquito Nets (both $49). First, the BABYZEN mosquito nets prevent any insects from coming near your baby, while letting air flow through. These are also easy to install, washable and made of 50% nylon and 50% polyester. Stash this in the drawstring bag when not in use. Likewise, the Joolz Uni2 nets are also easy to attach and fit both the seat and bassinet. This can also be used simultaneously with the Uni2 Comfort Cover and is compatible with the Joolz Day2 Geo, Geo2 and the Hub.

Another way to ward off the pesky mosquitoes is to use the Pigeon Anti-Mosquito Wet Tissue ($1.90), which is microbiologically tested. Completely safe for toddlers, it keeps babies and toddlers free from mosquitoes and other skin irritation for up to six hours, and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
