Baby Food Kitchen is a compilation of 44 meals ideas and healthy recipes for babies from 4 months on. Recipes are easy to make and feature a variety of cuisines including local flavours like Baby Bak Chor Mee, Lychee-Banana-Carrot Muffins, and Fusion Idlis. All the recipes are naturally flavored without sugar, salt, or seasoning, and have been a hit with both babies and adults – ideal for playdates! And suitable for all weaning philosophies – our philosophy is to encourage involvement and exploration through food preparation and eating.
Whether for yourself or as a gift for a new mum, this hand-painted book is the missing link between readily available “western” recipe books, daunting complete-baby-meal-planners, and grandma’s secret recipes.
You will find in the book tips and tricks for turning feeding into a creative and stimulating pursuit for both Baby and mum. For example, where and how to start the journey, common allergens to watch out for, and what to be (realistically) prepared for. Each recipe comes with notes on how to vary or simplify the dish to support successful experimentation – For example, what the consistency of the muffin batter should look like, and how to store and reheat the dish.
The book shares learnings from a Singaporean career mum’s journey making food for her son… Initially a necessity because of his dairy allergy, but eventually because it was just so much fun. Baby Food Kitchen hopes to inspire more parents to get creative and hands-on in the kitchen with Baby's meals right from the start because it matters. Research has shown that early exposure to a wide variety of tastes and textures could make baby eventually less picky with food and help establish healthy eating habits early.
